Overview of the area!
Welcome to Madison, Ohio and the Grand River Valley’s Wine Region. Our 2 Bedroom house sits just outside Madison Village and right off of Route 90. If you take a right out of our property and drive 1 mile you will find the charming Main street dotted with restaurants to include “Nifty Fifty” serving a diner style delicious breakfast, Open Door Coffee House (which also serves ice cream!), Maggies donut shop, Mr. Young’s Sushi (Half price rolls on Tuesday, BOGO specialty rolls on Thursday), Corner stone Brewery, a well equipped laundry mat and a boutique style antique shop. Just before the village you will see a Mcdonalds on your right and “Pizza Roto” on your left. Pizza Roto offers quick fired made to order pizzas and has a full menu available ONLINE. To the left of our property you will see Marathon Gas station. They have a small selection of beer and wine but not much in the sense of groceries. If you need to visit the grocery market you will find the closest ones to be: Giant Eagle, Aldi, Marcs and/or Walmart all located in Madison about 10-15 minutes away. Most of the wineries serve small plates and a handful have full menus.
What should we do if we arrive early?
Many guests will arrive before the designated check-in time and while we will try to accommodate early check in requests they are not guaranteed. The good news is that there is plenty to do. We often suggest that guests visit the grocery store and do a small shop. That will give you more time to relax once you've checked in! There are also a few good restaurants for lunch so why not relax and enjoy some of the local food!

Is the home equipped with Air Conditioning?
Our home has the benefit of air conditioning. You will find a wifi enabled thermostat on the wall in our living room. Please ensure that all windows and outside doors are closed whilst the AC is running to ensure it operate to maximum efficiency. We recommend a setting of [72F / 22C] which we find keeps the place sufficiently cool.
Does the home have ceiling fans?
Our home is equipped with ceiling fans in the bedrooms to help keep you cool. Each fan is operated via a switch on the wall which operates the light/fan combo [pull chain on the fan to turn on/off either]
Does the home have central heating or a fireplace?
Our home has a central heating system. The thermostat control is the same used for cooling We recommend a setting of [72F / 22C] which we find keeps the place sufficiently warm. Our fireplace is simply for decoration at this time and is located in our living room as a beautiful focal point. We hope to transition it to a fas fireplace in the future and will keep our guests posted if this is complete prior to your stay.
What is the "simple kitchen" equipped with?
All manuals for the electrical equipment are located with the appliances on their shelves and we asked that they are left there upon check out.
The Fridge/freezer: You should not need to adjust any settings. If you run into any difficulties (e.g. it's not cooling efficiently) please let us know.
The Oven/Range: Our glass top range heats very quickly and we strongly advise “watching the pot boil” as overflow of liquids may permanently damage the glass top. The range is electric and basic by design. If you have any issues with it please let us know immediately.

What laundry services are available?
Our home does not have laundry appliances available to guests at this time however we are less than 1 mile from Madison Village Laundry Mat. We highly recommend checking out Nifty Fifty Diner next door while you wait. Giant Eagle also offers dry cleaning services.
What security systems are in place for this home?
We will share security details with you separately upon booking to ensure the continued security of our property. Our home is secured with smart enabled systems and we feel very comfortable and confident with all systems in place.
Can we use the garage/stand along garage during our stay?
The garage will remain locked to our guests as it is unfinished and we prefer not to have it as a featured part of your experience. Please respect our request to keep the garage private to the owners. Our goal is to have the garage secured and safe for future (winter!) use by our guests and we will keep future reservations posted on this timeline.
The stand alone garage will eventually evolve into a green-house of sorts and we ask that this space be left private as well.
Is there cable television in the home?
Our home is equipped with a top of the line smart television. The TV requires only 1 remote to power on and control the apps in which you wish to watch. The remote is located below the television next to our guest book (please sign!) We subscribe to Hulu and Netflix and allow our guests to use our network or sign into their own accounts. The television works with our Wifi network so if you are having any connection issues please let us know immediately so we can contact our service provider. We do not have a basic cable subscription at this time.
